Meet WHYRED's new Creative Director: Jessy Heuvelink
For those that don’t know you, can you explain your vision?
My vision for WHYRED is to build a wardrobe of carefully designed pieces that will inspire our customers to express themselves and build an independent sense of style. I like to revisit the classics - garments that have stood the test of time, and find new ways to make them relevant for today. I want the garments I design for WHYRED to have a timeless feeling, to be loved and worn over and over again. Fashions come and go but great style never goes out of fashion.
What’s your inspiration?
Art, culture, film and music, particularly from the 1960's and 70’s. Those decades have always been a great source of inspiration for me. Both my personal style and my designs take a lot of inspiration from style icons, rock stars and the actors of that time, with their impeccable style and nonchalant elegance.
What’s the one word that you want WHYRED to be associated with?
Independence.
What are your favorite garments from the latest collection?
That’s a tough one! Every garment is created with passion and is part of a bigger picture, but if I had to choose, I’d choose:
Carol Dress - "The iconic wrap dress. A real eye-catcher in elegant black."
Serge Printed Shirt - "I believe every man should have at least one polka dot shirt in his wardrobe. This shirt has a 70’s inspired modern collar and is the perfect option."
